I wanted a two story building with about the same size footprint as the small Plasticville freight station seen all over the layout. This was “built” with Windows Paint program on card stock paper. I wanted to have the man door in the end of the structure at ground level. This requires the lower story to be 4 feet less tall and with an overhanging dock roof — that complicates second story widow placement. I still don’t know which type or color siding I like best, vertical board and batten or clap board. So if I turn the building 180 degrees, I can have the other.

Underhill Fabricating Building located behind the roundhouse and under the Hillton big bridge. The loading dock could be made either handed or fixed to the track to have a ramp at one end and steps by Central Valley at the other. Maybe it could have a shorter truck dock on the back side in addition to the longer one on the rail side as shown above. I think the building can be used for many different kinds of industries. One could vary the window count for the second story. It could be a fabric uniform or shirt factory (lots of windows for natural light). A cigar factory would need fewer windows. I originally had two sliding doors at the dock level but it just seemed too busy, so now there is the single sliding door.
