American Maid Uniform Company

Here is my latest homemade paper building in a different setting. Sometimes structures can be moved for a different picture. As for the sign about American Maid Uniforms – made in America – I was playing with slogans:  You will like your American maid in an American Maid Uniform –made in America. The company specializes in uniforms for receptionists, waitresses, and nurses etc. They also do nice American flags.

We see a modern Erie RR steel 40 foot boxcar on a spur track serving this two story factory building and a dandy looking old 1946 Chevy pickup truck with a wood floor bed, running boards, tail light, rear view mirror (the factory provided only one of each in those days). Really a nice well detailed model, so maybe we can date this scene to before 1950. I usually don’t worry much about historically accurate settings, but using age appropriate vehicles can easily date a scene by the age of the vehicles. The pavement in this scene is a brown paper sack covering another track! As I look at this photo on the computer I think I had better get back to the drawing program and make another scene. I think the porch roof is too low, the apron below the loading dock is too light color, and the scene needs some people and other vehicles. I guess I was in too big a hurry.
